WHO WE ARE

In 1990, Ron and Sandy Miles started their own company. They had 4 young children and a dream. Ron started a semi truck repair business with a few customers out of his pick-up. In the evenings, he built a homemade trailer to be able to grow his company. After the dinner table was cleared, Sandy would work on the billing and the kids would help separate the invoices. It was truly a family affair.

In 2000 we opened Lighthouse Trucking. We started with just a couple gravel trucks. Over the next year we moved in reefer deliveries and our fleet is over 30 trucks and still growing.

Ron still runs the company with his youngest son (JD) helping run the truck repair division and his wife and youngest daughter (Wendy) running the office.

Lighthouse Trucking is still a small family run and operated business. As a company we deal with every angle of trucking- from repairs to operating our own fleet.

Our core values have never changed. We strive to offer the best service. On any given day you are likely to see Ron driving to deliver a load. We have been in Kenosha for over 28 years, it is our home.

OUR TEAM

Ron Miles

Ron is the founder and owner of Lighthouse Trucking. Ron grew up knowing the meaning of hard work. There is no job that is too small that you will not see Ron doing. If it needs to be done, he does it. You will see him running loads, underneath a truck, or running for parts on a given day. Ron is the heart and soul of the company and you will see his imprint in all parts of the company.

Wendy Miles-Hoffman

Wendy has her bachelor degree from UW-Parkside and has started work on her master’s degree. Wendy is the youngest daughter and has always been in the family business and now manages the office. She has recently been elected to serve on the Board of the Wisconsin Motor Carrier Association and serves on their legislative committee. Wendy also stays active in areas of regulations and laws that affect the trucking industry.

JD Miles

JD is the youngest child and has spent his life in the trucking world. He had driven trucks interstate since he was 18 and received his CDL at 21. He in the past rebuilt trucks into specialty show trucks, many which have won awards. In most recent years he has transitioned into managing our repair shop. Though you can still see JD out delivering loads when needed.
